On the evidence available, VOID/BREAKER is a well-received Early Access shooter with a clearly enthusiastic audience, but a fan wiki cannot hand you a definitive verdict: no official review score is documented in the materials used for this article. What is documented is strong player sentiment. In its 0.13.4 patch notes, published June 18, 2026, the team stated that the game is rated Overwhelmingly Positive on Steam (a player-review summary, not a critic score). Two outlets, SmashPad and Rogueliker, published positive Early Access impressions. Note that both pieces are snapshots of a game still in development — the 1.0 release is scheduled for November 4, 2026.

What the Developer and Steam Page Say

The official Steam page frames the game as an adrenaline-driven roguelite first-person shooter. You play a prisoner of a hostile, all-seeing AI, forced to fight, die, and repeat, with three pillars advertised:

  • Movement and gunplay: fast, fluid traversal built for high-speed firefights.
  • Gun modding: combining weapon mods into custom loadouts and synergies.
  • Environmental destruction: blasting walls and collapsing structures as a core mechanic, not decoration.

The page also stresses that it is a solo project by Daniel Stubbington of Stubby Games, following his 2022 puzzle game The Entropy Centre. The store listing is the developer's own marketing, so treat "infinite weapons, infinite possibilities" as a pitch rather than a verified count — this wiki has no official breakdown of how many weapons or mods exist.

What SmashPad Said

SmashPad's Early Access review, dated August 22, 2025, describes the game as "a solid foundation for what will evolve into an even more thrilling and replayable experience," according to SmashPad. The reviewer argues that the roguelite elements are "positively compatible" with the FPS gameplay, producing a loop that is simple to grasp but grows in complexity, and calls the movement very fluid, with room for dozens of hours of experimentation across weapon loadouts and abilities. The same review states that clearing a room offers a chest with three boosts, and that crushing enemies with rubble staggers them so they drop extra health and ammo. It also refers to the player character as Test Subject 1473 and the AI as Idris — details not confirmed in the official store description.

What Rogueliker Said

Rogueliker's impressions, dated March 18, 2026, single out the mass-destruction mechanics and weapon mod system as the game's draw, according to Rogueliker. The piece describes a fast-paced robot shooter with aggressive, bullet-hell-style enemies and a broad movement kit — dash with invincibility frames, slide, wall-run, double jump and a grappling hook — plus a limited-slot inventory that turns mod organisation into a puzzle. It is not uncritical: the writer complains that enemies tend to clump in the middle of arenas, and dislikes that the Zone 4 chapter resets your upgrades. That same article names the AI "IRIS," which conflicts with SmashPad's "Idris"; neither name appears in the official description, so this wiki treats the naming as unconfirmed.

Early Access Context

VOID/BREAKER arrived in Early Access on August 19, 2025, and has been expanded since. The base price rose from $19.99 to $29.99 on August 22, 2026 — the final increase, per the developer's announcements — and the current US store price is $29.99. Version 1.0 is announced for November 4, 2026. Per the official 1.0 announcement, anyone who purchased the game in Early Access, or buys it before 1.0, is granted the Supporter's Pack, which includes the official soundtrack composed by Joe Ford. All of the criticism above was written before 1.0, so whether those issues persist is not officially documented.

Specifications, store features and the free demo — whose progress carries into the full game, per the announcements — are listed on the game's Steam store page.
